Registering a divorce

Necessary items:
1. Local residence permit, ID and photocopy. Taiwan residents need their passport, ID, and photocopies of both. Overseas Chinese and foreigners need a passport or other valid international travel document and photocopies.
2. The two parties involved need to submit two recent 2-inch passport photos.
3. The two parties need a marriage certificate from a Chinese marriage registration office or Chinese embassy abroad.
4. The divorce agreement must be voluntary for both parties with a clear description of how to deal with child support, assets and debts and must be signed by both parties.
