Various kinds of low-cost housing projects will soon be sprouting up across Pingdingshan, according to the Pingdingshan Housing Management Bureau.

Covering over one million square meters, the projects will help meet the need for economically affordable rental homes. Those depending on minimum-wage living subsidies provided by the government and those with disabilities are to get priority allocation of apartments. Providing economically affordable housing is one of the Pingdingshan government’s strategies to provide better living standards for local residents.

Within 5 years, a total of 14.848 billion yuan will be injected into constructing the projects, which will cover more than 363 hectares and provide 108,500 homes, according to Pingdingshan’s 12th Five-Year-Plan (2011-2015).
