In Anshun, there are 1.79 billion tons of proven coal reserves, 32.92 million tons of barite, 22 kilograms of gold, 477,700 tons of lead and zinc, 19.5 million tons of bauxite, 500,000 tons of antimony, 240,000 tons of mercury, 15.69 million tons of dolomite (from which to refine magnesium), 2.02 million tons of iron, 1.91 tons of manganese, 77.78 million tons of gypsum, 2.4 million tons of dolomite for chemical use, 11.75 tons of silica, 26.63 million tons of limestone for cement, 4.64 million cubic meters of limestone for veneer, 2.19 million tons of electric limestone, 340,000 tons of calcite, 1.23 million tons of fire clay, 1.62 million tons of sand for fertilizer, 610,000 tons of clay as cement adjuvant and 23,000 tons of fluorite.
Its coal serves the west-east power transmission program. It is estimated that the prospective coal reserves (at least 1,000 meters under the earth's surface) reach at least 13 billion tons, which can be exploited over the next 50 years given current production capacity.
The total barite reserve is more than 47 million tons, which can be exploited over the next 100 years.
The total limestone reserve for cement is estimated to reach more than 5 billion tons, which can meet Anshun's long-term development demand.
The total reserves of silica for metallurgy is more than 35 million tons, sufficient for production.
The total reserves of dolomite to refine magnesium is estimated at more than 500 million tons.
Additionally, there are more than 10 discovered minerals that need to be further proved and exploited, including copper, crystal, kaolin, phosphorite, iceland spar, bentonite and celestite.
