This provincial high-tech zone, in Anshun city, was formally approved by the People's provincial Government of Guizhou in April 2001.

Xiayun Scientific and Technological Industrial Park, Yangchang Industrial Park and Leping Industrial Park, totaling 91.12 square kilometers, have applied to add to the original 98 hectares (980,000 square kiolmeters) planned area as an expansion of Liyang High and New Tech Industrial Park.
