Luocheng sees economic growth in Q1

Luocheng Mulam autonomous county's GDP is expected to reach 1.38 billion yuan ($213 million) in the first quarter of 2021, increasing by 11.3 percent year-on-year, thanks to the county's efforts in promoting high-quality economic development.
The county has planned to plant 120,000 mu (8,000 hectares) of early rice this year, of which 95 percent has been completed by now. The county has also promoted the standardized and large-scale development of the breeding industry.
Preferential policies were introduced to encourage villagers to plant sugarcane and the county has seen an overall plantation area of 46,800 mu of sugarcane.
It is expected that the county's total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery would amount to 601 million yuan in the first quarter, with a year-on-year growth of 10.6 percent.
It is estimated that the county's industrial output value above designated size will increase by 8.6 percent year-on-year.
The county has been focusing on the development of local processing bases for wine, drinking water, and agricultural products, striving to improve product visibility and market share.
The output of beverage wine increased by 107.2 percent, the number of packaged drinking water saw a growth of 37.8 percent, while that of wood-based panel increased by 39.3 percent.
In addition, the county has made full use of Mulam cultural resources and strengthened the construction of tourism infrastructure to develop its tourism industry. Luocheng Tourism Distribution Center was built to provide high-quality services for tourists.
The total number of tourists in the county reached 543,800, while the total tourism consumption reached 631 million yuan in the first quarter of the year.
