Hechi to invest $29 billion in major projects in 2021-23

Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region issued a three-year action plan (2021-23) on April 7, which revealed that the region will invest a total of 3.84 trillion yuan ($586 billion) in major projects, of which 191 billion yuan will be in Hechi.

No fewer than 1,200 major new projects with an investment of 460 billion yuan will start construction in Hechi over the next three years, and the city will also continue the construction of at least 1,800 major projects at a cost of about 880 billion yuan.

About 150 billion yuan will be invested in a further 450 major projects that have been put into operation.

It has been proposed that Guangxi should promote the development of its service industry as well as its agricultural sector over the next three years. It will pay attention to the construction of a batch of competitive projects, in areas such as consumer goods, electronic equipment, new-energy vehicles, energy-saving and environmental-friendly industries, new materials, and biomedicine.

Meanwhile, the region will promote infrastructure construction, pushing forward the construction of expressways, automatic container terminals and water conservancy hubs. In addition, over 20,000 5G base stations will be built, and 170,000 houses in old urban communities will be renovated in three years.

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
