Farmers in Dunsu village, Dahua Yao autonomous county are currently busy with farm work, such as picking oranges, as well as planting trees and medicinal herbs, creating a vibrant countryside landscape.

Thanks to the land circulation policies, Dunsu village has improved its utilization rate of land since 2018.

"Villagers can find work opportunities in their hometown, as well as get income from both land rent and salary," Wei Qiaomei, Party chief of Dunsu village, said.

"We transferred 150 mu (10 hectares) of land to plant medicinal plant asparagus. The estimated production is 750 kilograms per mu, generating 3,000 yuan ($458.69) per mu in income for local farmers," Wei noted.

He added that the 170 mu of fertile oranges has had a good harvest this year, with an estimated output of 500 tons, worth between 2.6 to 3 million yuan.
