Yizhou Industrial Park in Hechi was rated as a national rural innovation and entrepreneurship park, according to a recent announcement by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

There were only three industrial parks in Guangxi which received this honor.

The industrial park was founded under the approval of the People's Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in 1992, when it was named the Guangxi Yizhou Economic and Development Zone. In April 2017, it received its current name.

The industrial park mainly focuses on the processing of cocoon silk, with its total installed capacity of automatic silk reeling machines ranking first in Guangxi.

In 2019, the total number of cocoon silk processing-related enterprises in the park grew to 20, including 10 reeling mills. The annual capacity of raw silk reached 6,000 metric tons, remaining first of all the counties and county-level districts in Guangxi.

Five projects were introduced to the industrial park in 2019, with a total paid-in investment of 3 billion yuan ($435.54 million).

The total industrial output value of the park in 2019 is expected to reach 4 billion yuan, while the added value is estimated to be 800 million yuan.

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
