Northwest China’s Gansu province finished the construction of a new water transmission project on Oct 15.
According to the local authorities, the project is expected to benefit in excess of 570,000 people by transferring the water from the Yellow River to irrigate semi-arid land in Gansu’s Linxia Hui autonomous prefecture.
The project spans more than 40 kilometers and will transfer an estimated 50 million cubic meters a year.
