Around 160 national instruments from Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region were displayed at Lanzhou city's Culture Creative Industry Park in Gansu province on April 20-21.

The exhibitions consisted of stringed, film-ringing percussion instruments, idiophones and aero phones. Many rare musical instruments, representative of Xinjiang ethnic groups, were displayed in a special boutique area.

This was the first exhibition of the characteristic national music instruments embodying the diverse musical culture found along the Silk Road, an ancient trade road stretching from North China to West Asia.

The instruments showed the integration and development of different ethnic groups' cultures according to the Art Institution of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, organizer of the exhibition.
