Dunhuang tourism booms in NW China

Tourism revenue in Dunhuang city, in Northwest China's Gansu province, exceeded 4.2 billion yuan ($660 million) from January to August in 2015, an increase of 33.5 percent from last year, the city's statistics office says.
The desert scenery and Mogao Grottoes have attracted an increasing number of tourists.
The official statistics revealed that Dunhuang received more than 43 million visitors in the past eight months, a growth of 31 percent compared with the same period last year.
