A fire broke out at a seafood restaurant in downtown Pingtan around noon on March 17.

The fire started in the kitchen at 11:00 am. Diners were soon evacuated and some employees stayed behind to contain the fire, said the owner of the restaurant.

A fire engine with 15 firefighters on board arrived soon after and put out the fire after 10 minutes.

The fire was caused by a gas leak, according to police.
