A senior Pingtan official has called for an acceleration of the construction of a customs checkpoint.

Li Dejin, head of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ)'s administrative committee, visited the construction site of the customs checkpoint in the village of Nianggong, and also the port in Aoqian town.

During his visit on Jan 21, Li asked the construction company to speed up work and strive to "basically" finish before the Spring Festival, which falls on Jan 31.

The main office building of the customs checkpoint is nearly completed, and workers are tearing down the scaffolding after installation of glass walls and aluminum curtain walls.

During his stop at the port in Aoqian, Li oversaw the procedures for the approval of entry permits, and he called for increased efficiency for the benefit of the public during the holidays.
