An intelligent transportation information platform will be put into service in the city of Jinjiang, Fujian province next February, reported Strait News on Dec 8.
The new platform has been created with an aim to improve the traffic conditions in the city.
With total investment of over 5 million yuan ($779,415), the first batch of 15 intelligent traffic signal controllers has started installing work recently.

A traffic officer said that, with automated data computing, the platform will guide vehicles from busy roads to low-volume roads.
In addition, the local transportation department can adjust the traffic light to reduce congestion in main roads.
