On February 21, 2020, the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC)’s leading group for poverty alleviation held a meeting to review its targeted poverty alleviation work in 2019 and deploy its 2020 poverty alleviation tasks.

Ma Jiantang, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of DRC and head of the leading group for poverty alleviation, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.

The meeting fully affirmed the achievements made by DRC in targeted poverty alleviation work in 2019, and members of the Leading Party Members’ Group took the lead in pairing donations for education. All DRC staff worked together to devote a lot in the assistance work and projects, and exceeded the targeted outcomes. The work achieved very good results and contributed to the poverty alleviation of Daming county in Hebei province.

The meeting emphasized that targeted poverty alleviation is a major political task assigned to DRC by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC). As this year is the end of the battle against poverty, DRC should give full play to its own advantages and continue to work hard to implement various assistance measures for Daming county.
