Report No 130, 2014 (Total No 4629)

Abstract:

China's statistics and controls over ecological development are problematic because of a lack of transparency in information and communications between the entities involved, leading to ill-defined indicators, lack of updates, and false or concealing data. To untangle this problematic situation, we propose that the government improve China's ecology systematically, with accurate indices in accordance with its new policy. We also suggest that the government build a solid foundation for gathering statistics through new methodology, improved networks, and stronger data monitoring for more accurate results.

In addition, it needs to establish cross-section coordination for more accurate data, and later an information platform for greater transparency and sharing. Finally, we suggest that the government improve its monitoring, with renewed data reporting to deal with false or concealing informaion.
