2010-08-25

On Aug 13, the 18-car caravan delegation of Silk Road's application for the "World Cultural Heritage" status arrived at Suoyang, where an ancient Chinese military defensive system is best preserved.

Suoyang, formerly called Kuyu, is a key historical site under state protection. Located in the deserts of Guazhou county, Gansu province, it was founded in the Han dynasty (BC 202- 220 AD) and became prosperous during the Tang dynasty (618-907).
