Tourism revenue sky rockets early
Updated: 2010-08-18

Tourism revenue in Anhui province increased by 39.6 percent to $333 million in the first seven months of this year, according to the figures issued by Anhui Tourism Administration.

By creating an intensified airline network, Anhui officials focused on increasing reception capacity of main airports in Hefei, Huangshan, Anqing and Fuyang to make travelling more convenient. Anhui officials have been publicizing their tourism industry in foreign markets, especially in countries or regions such as Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, Europe and the United States. In turn, more and more visitors continue to make trips there.

More than 993,000 visited Anhui through July, which means the number of travelers is up 26.76 percent. Visitors from Asia reached 340,800, up by 23.32 percent. European visitors topped 142,700, an increase of 31.58 percent, and tourists from the American continents hit 70,200, representing a 23.61 percent increase.
