Founded in 1954, Shanghai Aviation Electric Co Ltd (SAE), affiliated to the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Avionics Systems Co Ltd. SAE owns two plants, one in Minhang district and another in Jinshan district, covering a total area of nearly 120,000 sq m. It also has 5 holding subsidiaries and more than 1,100 employees in active service.

AVIC Guohua laser projectors represent an up-to-date generation of laser projection products developed and manufactured by SAE in response to the strategy of civil-military integration. As a result of the technological advantages accumulated from the transfer of military technology to civil use, AVIC Guohua laser projectors have made a great leap forward from the 3rd generation of digital flat panel display technology to the 4th generation laser display technology.
