The on-going 2011 Beijing Fringe Festival will present 130 performances of 57 works from 12 countries and regions, grouped under such categories as "new works", "annual focus", "Brecht festival", "international works", "dance theater" and "Beijing operas". There will also be text readings, workshops and a seminar on theater.
Founded by director Meng Jinghui in 2008, Beijing Fringe Festival has become one of the biggest theater festivals in China in recent years.
The program is spread over 11 venues in Beijing, including the National Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Pioneer Theater and 9 Theaters.
The festival closes on Sept 25.
