Chinese parents want to send their children overseas as early as middle school, while children themselves prefer to attend college in overseas countries, according to a recent whitepaper.
The Study Abroad Agency Evaluation Index Whitepaper was released by China Citic Bank and Nielsen on Nov 12.
Chinese parents tend to send their children overseas at a young age, with 44 percent wanting their kids to pursue middle school studies. Children prefer to study at a later stage, with 46 percent wanting to attend college overseas.
Those who go overseas for middle or high school are more likely to go for immigration.
As to popular destinations, the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada still top the list, while some European countries such as Germany, France and Spain are also popular choices.
