Romp with Stomp

City guide: Hong KongThis is your chance to find out what all the noise is about. After a five-year absence, Stomp '11 - Fresher, Faster, Funnier returns to Hong Kong for 16 performances, introducing a whole new audience to its infectious combination of comedy, rhythm, theater and dance. Ever since it premiered in 1991 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Stomp has wowed audiences by taking mundane objects from everyday life and transforming them into rousing musical instruments. This latest edition was inspired by its long-running Las Vegas counterpart; its whirling dance and acrobatics featuring paint cans and monster truck inner tubes will have you stomping your own feet for encores.

Bavarian brews

One of the biggest annual outdoor Oktoberfest parties in town celebrates its 20th anniversary in style, as the Marco Polo German Bierfest 2011 returns to Hong Kong bigger and more fun than ever. This year, along with the return of traditional oom-pah-pah band The Notenhobler from Munich, the event will include Lowenbrau Oktoberfestbier, a special edition beer made for the occasion. Available for the first time in Hong Kong, its high wort content ensures that the brew is full-bodied and packed with flavor. Feast on crispy pork knuckle and authentic German sausages while clicking steins and table dancing the night away to Bavarian tunes with a glittering view of Victoria Harbour.
