Stretching for more than 2,900 kilometers and as the river at the highest altitude in the world, the Yarlung Zangbo River is located in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
The river is sourced in the Gyaimanezong Glacier in Zongba County, which is in the northern foothills of the Himalayas. It flows from west to east across the southern section of the Tibetan Plateau.
