Attorneys propose rules on videotaping Lindsay Lohan deposition

Lindsay Lohan would give a videotaped deposition under strict limitations in gal pal Samantha Ronson's lawsuit if a tentative agreement proposed by Lohan's attorneys is approved.

Ronson is suing New York lawyer Martin Garbus for allegedly mishandling a defamation lawsuit she filed against celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, who reported she may have provided cocaine found in Lohan's car following a crash in Beverly Hills. The lawsuit against Hilton was eventually dismissed.

Lohan is concerned her deposition would become public. The eight-page proposed order, filed Thursday by Lohan's lawyers, would limit who could see the video or the transcript. It is subject to approval by other lawyers in the case, including those for Ronson.

If all parties are in agreement, a hearing scheduled next Thursday on Lohan's original motion to prevent her deposition from being placed on video will be canceled, although Ronson has a similar motion regarding her deposition that is set to be heard that day.

Garbus' legal team calls Lohan "a critical witness in this case" because her car accident gave rise to the defamation action. Lohan is not a plaintiff or defendant in the lawsuit.
