Tomic's father barred

China Daily | Updated: 2013-05-28 06:55

French Open organizers will not let Bernard Tomic's father in, even as a paying spectator.

The French tennis federation said on Monday that security officials have received instructions not to give him access at the gates at Roland Garros.

Bernard Tomic will face Victor Hanescu of Romania in the first round on Tuesday. John Tomic is also his son's coach. He is barred from receiving credentials to upcoming tournaments because of an assault investigation.

Earlier this month, a Madrid court postponed John Tomic's case until October after he was charged with assaulting his son's hitting partner, Thomas Drouet, allegedly head-butting him near their hotel before the Madrid Open.
