Singapore-style living is coming to Pudong as part of an international community project to develop the area by Keppel Land.
Ben Lee, general manager from Keppel Land said the project located at Pudong's Xinchang Town covers an area of 320,000 square meters, aiming to provide a new living atmosphere for people from home and abroad who are working in the Pudong New Area.
Local analysts said as Nanhui County was merged into the Pudong New Area, the eastern part of Shanghai is facing a new development, which calls for more talented people to serve it.
"That provides an opportunity for us as well to start such a heavily-funded housing project," said Lee.
He said the project will be developed in four phases, which consist of superimposed garden houses, high-rise apartments, town houses and commercial facilities.
The project has adopted the architecture philosophy of "modern minimalism" with the landscape design interspersed with elements of "Modern Chinese Style". An exclusive private club will be built in each phase respectively to meet various needs.
As one of the largest real estate companies listed on the Singapore Exchange, Keppel Land is well-known for its open management style and has won various awards for its high-quality residential projects. It is now focusing on development in Asia, including Singapore, China, India, Vietnam and Indonesia, Lee said.
