Firecrackers roar one after another, and boiled rice dumplings accompany us to the last note of A Night to Remember (the last song played in the more-than-four-hour-long Spring Festival Gala every year). It’s the official night for even the most disciplined dieters to polish off a bowl of dumplings with little concern about calories. After midnight it’s time to go to bed stuffed and sweet.
