A Danish food tasting event was held in the Danish Embassy in Beijing on Nov 7, 2013. John Kofod, the Danish chief presented his cuisine creations to the attendees.

The concept of "New Danish cuisine" was formed in 2004, with the aim to promote natural and nouvelle cuisine with local characteristics to restaurants and residents. With the spread of the concept, many Danish restaurants seek innovations on food production by combining the traditional dishes with new ingredients.

New Danish cuisine follows four basic principles: faddish, simple, pure and fresh.

New Danish cuisine is a trend originated from grassroots class, inspired by the daily food on the cutting board and in the oven, all-inclusive. It has reflected the strong enthusiasm of Danish people to pursue healthy and delicious food.
