Ghana's first aircraft restaurant attracts focus
Some visitors to the eating place expressed delight seeing the use of the old aircraft for such a venture.
"Last Friday, they did some opening ceremony and they showed it on television. So I was just trying to be inquisitive to see what really the place is. That is what has pulled me to this place," said Ebo Quainoo, manager at the Shell petrol station around the Airport.
"When you are outside the plane, you would not know what is in here. But when we just stepped by the door and we were entering, we realized that this place is just fabulous, fantastic. I mean you are here and you are feeling at home. Everything around here is well organized," he added.
Another customer, Mark Washington Markuriah, a business executive, told Xinhua that he was impressed with the ambiance and facilities at the place.
"I came to the Bank and I felt let me come here and catch a glimpse of my eyes. At the end of the day I entered into the restaurant. I was very impressed and said that is one in Africa so far and I am very happy to be here," he said.
The plane restaurant was expected to be a tourist attraction while the cocoa and oil producing country is trying to expand the tourism sector as one pillar of its economy.
