The municipal government of Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region is working on the city's greening, city planning, affordable housing, and natural disaster preparedness.

Urumqi plans to build 11,500 apartments for affordable housing, for which the budget is about 1 billion yuan ($152 million).
