Michelle Pfeiffer added her name to Hollywood's star-studded "Walk of Fame" here Monday before paying tribute to her mother for helping inspire her showbusiness career.
The 49-year-old actress, who found fame with notable roles in "The Fabulous Baker Boys" and "Scarface," was present at a ceremony to mark the unveiling of the 2,345th star on Hollywood Boulevard.
Pfeiffer, a former beauty queen who gave up a possible career in journalism to pursue acting, said her mother had been instrumental in her success.
"There are so many people that go into the making of an actor's career, and first and foremost I want to thank my mother, who isn't here right now," Pfeiffer said.
Pfeiffer has returned to the big-screen with a vengeance this year after a five-year absence following her appearance in 2002's "White Oleander."
She stars in the upcoming "Stardust" alongside Robert De Niro and is also appearing in musical comedy "Hairspray" with John Travolta.
Pfeiffer is also cast in the upcoming romantic comedy "I Could Never Be Your Woman," due to be released in the United States next month.
