'Dead Man's Chest' is year's top filmPirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest is the most successful film in the UK this year, figures have shown.

The second part of the series, starring Johnny Depp, took more than any other movie at cinemas with million.

Second, with £45 million, was Daniel Craig's successful appearance as James Bond in Casino Royale.

The Da Vinci Code came third - taking just more than £30 million.

Overall, audiences at screens in the UK increased on last year. Ralph Ludemann from the Hollywood Reporter commented: "This proves there is an upward curve in the business and it bodes well for 2007."
