Thailand coup makes 'Bangkok Dangerous' for Nicolas CageThough this week's military coup in Thailand has passed off without any blood shed, there seems to be one causality, as the production of Nicolas Cage's latest movie was stopped when news of the revolt reached the set.

Cage was in Bangkok to shoot the remake of the 1999 gangster thriller Bangkok Dangerous, directed by the Hong Kong-born twin brothers Danny and Oxide Pang. Cage plays a hitman who comes to Bangkok for a job.

When the news of the coup broke, producers insisted all cast and crew members to take the military situation seriously, and asked them to return to their hotels and await further instructions, reports Contactmusic.

The World Trade Center actor reportedly had a private jet on standby at a nearby airport, just in case the situation escalates and he is forced to flee at short notice.
