Keanu Reeves loving the World Cup

Hollywood heartthrob Keanu Reeves has spoken of his enthusiasm for the World Cup - but refused to predict whether England would beat Sweden tonight.

Reeves' new film, mystery drama The Lake House, reunites him with Sandra Bullock for the first time since the pair appeared in the hit Speed 12 years ago.

At the movie's European premiere in London's Leicester Square last night, the stars commented on the football tournament but would not be drawn on their favourite teams.

Bullock, 41, said her mixed ancestry - half German, quarter English and quarter Irish - could cause problems later in the World Cup.

Reeves said of tonight's crunch game between England and Sweden: "Predictions are dangerous in football."

But commenting on the tournament itself, the 41-year-old actor said: "I just think it's great when the best of the best play against each other."

He said that he found the experience of working on the film, in which he plays an architect trapped in a different point in time to Bullock's character, "very different" to Speed.

And Bullock, wearing a black dress by Carlos Miele, revealed the stars needed diagrams while on set to help them through the complex plot.

The actress plays a lonely doctor who exchanges love letters with Reeves' character despite the fact that they are apparently separated in time and live two years apart.

Bullock said that although it was a "hard film" to shoot, she did look forward to working with Reeves again in the future.

She said: "I did work with him before and I would work with him again sooner rather than later."

She revealed that she always kept in touch with the star of the Matrix, but by letter and not email because Reeves does not have a computer.
