2000 college graduates to work in rural Beijing (CRI) Updated: 2006-01-01 10:05 2,000 college graduates will join local rural
administration in 2006, according to Chinese media.
The Beijing Times newspaper reported Saturday that local rural governments in
the Chinese capital will seek 2,000 college graduates for three-year employment
contracts.
An official from the Beijing educational work commission, Zhang Jianming,
said that the first group of 2,000 graduates will be appointed as assistants to
village heads. To meet the goal of having college graduates work in every
village in the capital, Beijing will recruit 8,000 college graduates within
three years, added Zhang.
Successful candidates will be offered a three-year employment contract with
an average monthly salary of 2,500 Yuan, about 309 US dollars, for positions
throughout the capital's rural areas.
After the expiration of the employment contract at the end of the third year,
these young workers will be able to seek jobs of their choosing. If they decided
to continue employment at state organizations and become civil servants, these
outstanding candidates will be offered priority recruitment.
