Two crushed to death at market promotion activity

Two aged people were crushed to death and another three were injured Wednesday when the crowd got out of hand at a market promotion show in Wuhan, the capital of central China's Hubei Province.
The show, at which a pharmaceuticals company handed out free medicine, attracted hundreds of local residents. Two elderly persons in the crowd died after they were pushed to the ground, and three others are recovering in hospital.
The pharmaceuticals company did not have permission from the local authorities for the activity, which was conducted in a movie theater.
The city and provincial governments have urged the efforts to make a comprehensive examination of security in public places after the accident.
