Landslide kills two in southwest China

An estimated 39 people were buried as a result of a massive landslide in southwest China's Yunnan Province Monday evening.

At press time, six people were rescued with two dead and four injured. The others remained missing.

The landslide occurred at about 7:50 p.m. Monday at a small village in Yanjin County, burying 39 people including four households and some workers, according to local official sources.

Rescue teams rushed to the site right after the tragedy happened. The injured have been sent to a nearby hospital.
