XJTU holds international culture festival

The 7th International Culture Festival of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) was held at the Western China Science & Technology Innovation Harbor Wisdom Uni-Town (Innovation Harbor), Xi'an on Oct 25, with nearly 1,000 Chinese and international students from more than 70 countries and regions attending.

In his speech, Zhang Maizeng, Party secretary of the XJTU committee, said that he hoped that international students will actively participate in various activities organized by the university, as well as value the good learning and living opportunities at XJTU.

Yang Ye, deputy director of the overseas study admissions department of the China Scholarship Council, affirmed the achievements of XJTU in the education of international students in recent years.

At the opening ceremony, students from all over the world gathered together to ignite the audience with various performances, such as singing, dancing, and martial arts.

In addition, 81 cultural booths prepared by students from 76 countries and five Chinese student societies attracted the attention of attendees. International students dressed in various costumes shared their customs, history, and culture with enthusiasm and pride.

Since 2008, the International Culture Festival of XJTU has been held seven times, highlighting the university's internationalization process.

Other cultural festival activities will also be held from Nov 1 to 9, including a Chinese speech contest, a football competition, as well as a Chinese storytelling and Hanfu experience show.
