As the business world is constantly changing and evolving, it is vital to acquire real business skills by studying at an international college, which offers students the ability to develop tangible business practices and encourages them to tap into their creativity and innovation.

The University of New Haven, an AACSB-accredited college founded on the Yale campus in 1920, endeavors to instruct students via outstanding faculty and wide variety of business programs. At the university, which has been recognized by The Princeton Review and U.S. News & World Report for academic excellence, there are more than 100 academic programs to choose from, all grounded in a longstanding commitment to collaborative, interdisciplinary, project-based learning.

Located in the shoreline city of West Haven between New York City and Boston, the university that will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2020 is a diverse and vibrant community of more than 7,000 students from across the globe, where there are numerous opportunities to interact with students from different backgrounds.

For example, the International Festival, an annual event hosted by International Student Association, attracts students representing over 30 countries. At the event, students present delicious food from their home countries and showcase their performing talents. It’s a great way to meet students from different countries and learn their cultures.

Michael Qiu once majored in accounting at the university. Through its Career Development Center, he got an internship as an accounting analyst with Covidien, a global medical devices company, during the summer holidays of his senior year.

He then joined a local public accounting firm as a full-time employee, again via the help of the Career Development Center. There, he was exposed to a variety of accounting services including audit, tax and advisory. Eventually, he decided to become specialized in audit and took a position with Deloitte Audit Practice.

Qiu’s overseas studying experience gave him an opportunity to learn about different cultures and see different parts of the world. He really appreciates this opportunity and would recommend it to anyone who wants to study at University of New Haven with a similar interest.
