The final will be held on Nov. 13th.

The first round had two parts, self-introduction “I’m from afar” and the talent show. KAINES CHRISTOPHER introduced himself with the beats of clapper talk, and meanwhile, he gave an excellent B-box show to the audience. The introductions of all competitors were very innovative and attractive, and they mixed their frequent oral-Chinese speaking with their skills of singing and talk show, etc.

All the audiences were immersed into the kinds of talent performances of the competitors, including Chinese calligraphy, Peking Opera, lion dance, Chinese comic talk, and so on. AKBOTA ZHANYS sang a famous song, “Elegant JIangxi”, written by Ms ZHU Hong, the secretary general of Jiangxi Province. Her resounding voice and graceful performance surprised all the judges.

The second round focused on the test of competitors’ understandings to Chinese traditional culture and their Chinese comprehensive abilities. All competitors prepared very well both in their speeches and the quiz of Chinese traditional culture knowledge. In their speeches, some told the stories of their most memorable trips in China, some shared their favorite Chinese food to the audiences, etc. CONG Xu from JUFE represented his admiration to Tao Yuanming, one famous poet in Jiangxi. According to his words, what he admired is not only Tao Yuanming’s indifferent to fame and wealth, but also his great morality. His standard oral-Chinese received the praises from the judges, so he successfully reached to top 10 among all competitors.

Three competitors said that their understandings to Chinese culture and Chinese language has been deepened a lot through this competition, and they would like to become an expert in China in the near future
