Changsha published a new edition of rules regarding teaching practices in local primary and secondary schools on Feb 26.

The new rules were formulated to adapt to new training objectives and evaluation criteria of talent and to transform teaching methods and students' learning styles.

The new rules attach importance to practical courses such as art and physical education. Schools should make and implement the sunshine physical exercise plan to guarantee students' exercise time at least one hour every day, according to the new rules.

Teachers are encouraged to use multimedia equipment effectively. However, the teaching plan should not be replaced by PowerPoint.

The frequency of examination should be controlled strictly and the midterm exam will be canceled in local primary schools.
