Chinese singer-songwriter Pu Shu will launch a new tour if China in 2017, after his successful tour of the country in 2015.

As one of the few Chinese singer-songwriters who manage to be both popular and keep a low profile, the star just released a few singles during the past decade, such as Ordinary Road for Chinese popular writer Han Han's directorial debut, The Continent, in 2014. Ordinary Road was reposted about 340,000 times within 24 hours after being released online last week. His latest single, Baby, Dania, was released in November 2016.

Born in Beijing to an intellectual family, Pu dropped out of university and became an indie singer-songwriter in 1996 and signed a contract with what was then one of the largest Chinese record companies, Rye Music. He taught himself to play guitar at university and started composing since then.

With just two albums released, I Went to 2000 in 1999 and Born Like a Summer Flower in 2003, Pu was considered one of the most talented singer-songwriters on the Chinese mainland.

His hits like Where Have All the Flowers Gone and Birch Forest were played almost everywhere throughout the 2000s and sung widely by college students.
