The exhibition, jointly organized by the National Library, the Chinese Calligraphers Association and the China Literary and Art Critics Association, includes seals, books and themed seminars and lectures on Wu and his art.

At the exhibition, Wu's artistic achievements are also showcased through a collection of books on his seals and research material on Wu.

The exhibition also features about 30 contemporary artists' works paying tribute to Wu's work.

Some of Wu's other works have been re-created and displayed at the exhibition, together with their drafts, to give an insight into his creative process.

The exhibition will run until Jan 6.

Wu (1844 -1927) was an influential seal engraver, calligrapher, painter and poet in modern China's art history.
