Two dramas, Little Mermaid and Little Fish, and Rescue the Nose, will be staged at Fengshang and Chongwen theaters in Beijing, respectively from Aug 16 to 19, and from Aug 23 to 25.
Dramas have been held annually for seven years to promote environment protection. This year's program focus on ocean protection, organizers announced on Aug 9.
As part of the 2016 China Environment and Health Publicity Week that is initiated by Central government ministries, including the Ministry of Education and the National Health and Family Planning Commission, the drama show this year was organized by the culture centers of Beijing's Dongcheng district, and Dongcheng Environment Protection Drama Club, a nongovernment organization founded by a group of drama artists in Dongcheng district.
Li Zimo, the chief planner of the drama show, says he hopes the drama will raise people's awareness on environment protection, especially the young generation.
Liu Junjie, the director of the 2016 China Environment and Health Publicity Week, praised the annual drama show for raising the public's environmental awareness through enjoyable dramas.
