"The film carries the voices of the people who shared their stories. It's their messenger," says Arthus-Bertrand, a UN Environment Program goodwill ambassador since 2009, adding that his wish is to let as many people as possible watch the movie.
"And every viewer can use it in his own way," he says.
It seems that Chinese moviegoers have already started following his suggestion.
Some video-streaming sites have the film subtitled in Chinese.
