Beijing's Palace Museum cooperated with US cruise line Royal Caribbean International to hold a cultural lecture and promotion events of the museum's souvenirs on a new ship harboring in Tianjin.
It is among the highlighted inauguration ceremony events for MS Ovation of the Seas, which is the third ship in the Quantum class with a max occupancy to carry 4,900 passengers.
According to Shan Jixiang, director of the Palace Museum, who delivered the lecture on the ship on Sunday, it is one of their series activities to enhance cross-culture communication and facilitate people to "bring museums home". And, he revealed more cooperation with RCI will follow in the future.
More lectures and virtual display of its cultural heritages on the ships will possibly be the next project.
The Palace Museum has developed more than 8,700 kinds of cultural souvenirs and its sales surpassed 1 billion yuan ($150 million) in 2015.
