Amy Li Gallery is happy to announce the opening of an exhibition featuring new works by artist Li Jikai. The exhibition will open on Sept 25. It's an attempt to shift from micro-style warmth to macro-style romanticism. The story of these ragmen, or rag-boys, is a metaphor of what we will encounter in real life in the future. In an era that lacks innovative spirit, humanity must rely on historical traditions. Compared with his previous works, there is much more reflection on the passing of time and relationships between people. The works also show the difficulties that young Chinese encounter. Li Jikai's perspective is, as always, pessimistic and dark.
