Ikea goes soft on kids

Ten yuan might not be a large sum for people living in cities, however, Swedish home furnishing products supplier Ikea believes multiples of the figure can add up to a big fortune for children.

Its worldwide campaign of donating money for every soft toy it sells to help children in poor living conditions is now celebrating its fifth consecutive year in China.

"No matter what the sale price is, Ikea are donating 10 yuan to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) branch in China for each toy we sell in our stores across the nation between Dec 24 and Feb 21," said Linda Xu, public relations manager of Ikea China.
