China Daily | Updated: 2009-12-31 07:52

LONDON: A British man held hostage in Iraq for more than two years was released on Wednesday, Foreign Secretary David Miliband said.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown demanded that another man, kidnapped at the same time and widely believed to be dead, be returned to Britain.

Miliband said information technology consultant Peter Moore was freed yesterday morning by his captors, and was in good health at the British Embassy in Baghdad, despite having been held captive since May 2007.
