UN stern in call for climate change deal
NEW YORK: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon yesterday called on world leaders to stop talking and start taking action to seize the last opportunity to reach a deal on climate change.
"Your decisions will have momentous consequences. Now it is your time to act," Ban told more than 100 heads of state attending the UN Summit on Climate Change.
He called on leaders of industrialized countries to take the first step forward. "If you do so, others will take measures of their own," he said. "All countries must do more now."
